Winter Nights
As the days grow cold and the nights so long,
In my true lover’s arms, is where I wish to belong,
The air is crisp and the night wind does blow,
I look out the window, in hopes that she will show,
The fireplace is burning and the music is playing soft,
I sit alone sipping wine, as my heart just hangs aloft,
So here I sit and stare deeply into the flame,
For now I’m living a life, that’s truly not the same,
I get up from my chair, to check once more,
Looking around outside, as I open the door,
And all I see is it the bright moon light,
Then my heart breaks again, as she is no where in sight,
The memories of her do dance with in my mind,
Feeling the unequalled touch, that is truly one of a kind,
I start to dream of all the ways, she made me feel like new,
By doing all the wonderful things, that only she can do,
I softly call out her name, as a tear falls from my eye,
But all that can hear me, are the stars up in the sky,
So I go back inside to wait, but I do not lock the door,
Just incase my true love, does return to me once more.
