The Start Of It All P90X

    

I know I’ve been quiet for a few days but my Mom at age 82 took very ill and today she passed away. I’m going to write a little extra for you to make up for the wiatting and also take my mind off of my loss. I know you all understand. So, let’s get back to our Fitness Hero of the hour!!!! LOL! 

      Well, I managed to get from 310 to the 270’s but that didn’t last as I went right back to 290+ as soon as I relaxed the least little bit on my diet. I got to the point of having to sleep down stairs on the couch, going up stairs to my bed was not easy and I didn’t want the pain. My job became in question as well because I had to use ladders and climb stairs, carry heavy things around all the time. The more I carry the more stress on the knees and the MORE they hurt. But I had to work, had to keep going.  I love to ride my Harley and even that became a challenge. I had to do something, I couldn’t run at all, no matter how hard I tried, I would only stumble and fall flat on my face, so, running to lose weight was out.

     So, there I was at 50 years old and I wasn’t sure what to do but knew it had to be different than what I had done in the past. I needed “In Your Face” something. My “why” at the time, was that my daughter was going to be getting married. I wanted to make sure I would be around for grandchildren.  Well, the good Lord answered my prayers one night as I sat there on the couch due to not being able to sleep. It was late March 2010, I saw an infomercial about P90X. For some reason it hit home, and something deep down said “Get It!”. I knew that was my answer, it had to be. Well, I didn’t order it right away because I wanted to talk to my Daughter about it since she is a Certified Nutritionist.  Looking into it more, I found that Tony Horton was my age, so, it’s on, I just knew I could do it. I figured I’d start after my trip to Dallas to visit my daughter.

     While I was there, I told her about my decision to get back in shape and how I saw this thing about P90X. She just raised an eyebrow and said to hang on a minute. She left the room and came back with a small box, handed it to me saying “Here dad, I have that work out want. You can use it since I can’t right now.”  I told her she needs to keep doing it and not end up like me. I’ll just get my own. That’s when my daughter told me with a little smile, “Well, I will later but a person shouldn’t do that type of a workout when they are pregnant.” I was all like Whaaaaat!? She was going tell me later but decided this would be a cute way to do it.

    When I got back to Houston, I picked a date to start and there would be no excuses. After all, even though just walking was a big deal for me, let alone running, and I couldn’t even do one pull-up, this guy Tony, who was my age is doing it all with no problem. So, I pushed play, like he says to do. After about 15 to 20 minutes into it I realized something, the idea I had about Tony being my age, so I should be able to do this to with no problem?? ,,,, Hell No, WHAT was I thinking?! But I wasn’t going to give up. I quickly became the Modification King! I even came up with some that Tony didn’t mention. I did exactly what Tony kept saying however, “As long as you’re moving you’re doing something!”  Words to live by for me, and it kept me going. All I kept telling myself was to Do My Best and Forget The Rest! I kept pushing play and didn’t see a lot of change after the first 30 days. It wasn’t until about day 45 when I noticed something. I realized I could go upstairs without using the handrail to pull myself up like I was 90 years old.  I felt A LOT better, and even my attitude changed. I knew now I was on the right path.

     At the end of my first round of P90X, I had lost 34 pounds, getting down to 256 and 4 pants sizes. Most of all, though still a little stiff, my knees about completely stopped hurting. Sad part of it all was the fact, unknown at the time, my knees were beyond repair and this was only a temp relief for them. My new life’s journey was just getting going with high hopes and dreams. Nothing could stop me now! I never even gave a second thought as to the under lying issues of being overweight for so long and not doing anything about it and living like I was invincible had set up for me. There was so much ahead, so much yet still to come.

 

   Are you hooked yet on wanting to hear more? Well, there IS more to come. Hmmm, maybe I should throw in Aliens, Time Travel, things blowing up?!!!! LOL!

And The Journey Begins

 

     I was going to talk about my biker years but like everything else in life, things change. So let me first say, I don’t look at this as my story, since a story is something that has a beginning, middle and an end.  With life and fitness there really is no end. There’s just a beginning and with ups and downs as well as some really cool adventures. I want to keep this to my fitness journey and things related, as I already started to do.

     Now, you know a little of my back ground leading up to this.  It was late in the year 2009 after I quit smoking. When Hurricane Ike blew through Texas, I blew out my last puff.  I knew about the “Gaining Weight” thing when a person stops smoking, but I figured I could handle it. By the start of summer, 2010, I had gone from 230 pounds to almost 310 pounds. Even at almost 6’2” that was way too much. My knees were quickly becoming weak, hurting a lot and not wanting to support my weight. All the garbage I did over the years without taking care of myself was finally taking its toll. Doctors said being as bow legged as I was, added to the cartilage break down and I should think about using a walker or at least a cane to help me get around. Oh What do they know!?

     After that, my health went straight downhill as did my attitude. I really used the biker mindset of “DILLIGAF” it’s a biker word. I didn’t fully realize all I had done however, until one day when I woke up. I was hurting as usual and blaming it on a bad mattress. As I got up out of bed it suddenly hit me, the floor! My knees gave out and down I went.  My mind started replaying all those warnings from people telling me to be careful and watch what I do cuz when I get older it will catch up with me. Of course, being young at that time I had all the answers and knew that stuff happened to other people, not me. I figured I could beat the odds like I did on so many other things. I just kept doing what I wanted, when I wanted and how I wanted.  Today that was all about to change. As you know, I’ve always been a very powerful man, and loved amazing people by carrying or lifting things, such as a car engine out of a car. So, as for my size, I just figured it came with the life style of being strong. You know, like the power lifters you see on television. They don’t exactly look like Tony Horton. 

      So, by not paying attention, listening or realizing it, my knees had become very bad from all of that heavy lifting, tripping over things, falling, getting hit with a sledge hammer, getting wrapped by a tow chain and so on. Even though stairs were becoming a challenge and ladders made me cry when I had to climb one, I figured this was just normal for getting old, like so many people had told me. I was just fooling myself though to justify my life. Add to it all the weight I gained now, and the physical toll just got a lot higher. Now, the stress and negativity that I had was spilling over to also affect my relationship and entire life, both at and away from work. At first, of course, I believed it was everyone else that had the problem not me, I was fine!  Things just kept getting worse for me, so I started to look hard at my life. All I could find was every little thing I’ve ever done wrong and just wanted to cry. I couldn’t think of one thing positive. I was at the point that when I drove by myself I didn’t care if a truck ran into me or my car blew up or if my bike spun out! I started to believe that so many people would be better off without me if something did happen. I even started to take the blame for everything that was wrong, whether it was my fault or not, didn’t matter. I was sure that somehow everyone else’s problems were my fault.  I actually started to look at counseling or finding a shrink to talk to. What I did instead, was pray. I asked God for guidance and what the plan is. This just couldn’t have been God’s plan for me to end up this way.

     I decided to make an appointment with a doctor and get a checkup. The findings were that my knees were shot (already knew that) and I was a walking heart attack, from all the stress and weight gain. I now found myself at ground 0 and I had to make a choice. I had tried diets in the past and used home workout equipment to keep somewhat in shape during my early years. But like with most people, that equipment ended up collecting dust and past on in a yard sale. I never kept going with it or did the “Maintenance” thing, I was fine! Looking back, perhaps this could have all been avoided if I just continued the workouts.  But no, I knew better, so there I was, knees are shot, back is always hurting, and can’t even tie my shoes if my pants are zipped up.  I had to do something or join the old folk’s walker brigade. Thus, my journey really began!

In The Beginning As An Adult

     Let’s start as an Adult, my childhood would take forever to tell about. So, all of my adult life I’ve been an unofficial strongman type, doing things that always made people look and wonder how the heck did he do that? I’ve amazed Doctors my whole life with the things I’ve gotten into and was able to just walk away from. I should have died a few times from things that have happened. I pretty much was living the movie, “Unbreakable” before it was even written. Thus, I did not properly take care of myself as things came up. I figured, WHY? Nothing can stop me. Well, if I only knew then what I know now. For example, in the mid to late 1980’s, my left knee was struck with a sledge hammer at full swing, by accident. My knee went numb and I just stood there for a minute looking at it while holding it with both hands, tightly. After a few minutes when the feeling came back, it hurt like Hell, so I hopped over to sit down on a nearby chair. Though it hurt pretty bad, I could still bend it, so I figured it wasn’t broken and thus a Doctor was not needed.  About a week or so later it locked up and I couldn’t walk at all on it. Went to a Clinic and the x-rays showed sever stress and slight displacement do to inner swelling. The Doc couldn’t believe I didn’t shatter it. I Took some pain pills and muscle relaxants along with a brace for the knee area and after about 2 to 3 weeks I was fine. (I’ve always healed supper fast) Quick healing became like a joke with people that new me claiming I MUST be an Alien…. LOL!

     Later, around 2001 I was helping a friend get his truck out of the mud and had to call a tow truck to wench it out. I quickly found that I was standing too close to the chain as the slack in the chain from the tow truck became straight. As it stretched out tight, it caught my leg as it swung past me, no time to try and jump. It caught my right ankle from the side and flipped me sideways. I laid there for a moment holding my breath and gritting my teeth, all the time thinking for sure my leg was gone, at least it felt like it.  After a few minutes, I managed to get up with some help and tried to walk. I could bend it a little, but it wasn’t easy. Since it was feeling a bit numb, I could put some weight on it but not much. I was going to go home and just soak it. But first, lunch! If I didn’t move it, I was OK. During lunch the feeling was coming back and yes, so was the pain.  It just kept getting worse, so next stop, a trip to the clinic. X-rays showed a twisted kneecap, slightly torn tendon and the cartilage popped out of place. With a slight twist and a turn by the doctor, I was back in line and this time a full leg brace was used. Surgery was recommended for the torn tendon but could heal on its own since it was a very small tear. I opted for the full brace and play it by ear. I didn’t walk really for about a month.  Making it a full month faster than the 2 months the Doctor thought it would take to heal. I ignored everything basically that happened to me over the next several years.

     As I said, I did strongman type stunts too, like the time I lifted a stripped engine out of a car. All the belts, water pump, etc.. were taken off. My son and his friend, both high school age, needed to remove it but didn’t have a hoist. Jokingly, I said, I got this. I climbed into the front area of the car and told them to get ready. I took a few deep breaths, reached down and lifted upward. When I got it to the fender height, I placed it there to rest and told the two boys to grab it. Once I got it that far, they were able to carefully lower it to the ground, in amazement that I lifted it like that. Honestly, I was a bit amazed too with myself. Then there was this car I used to own. The back drivers side wheel always pitched outward after several miles. No mechanic could figure why and said not to worry about it. I got in the habit of going to the back of the car every few days and lift it up, allowing the wheel to slide back and be straight up like the other 3. One time I went to park my car and the car stop was at an angle, not allowing for a car to park there very well. So, I got out, looked around and then proceeded to pick that thing up like it was nothing and turn it back in place so I could park. Someone saw me though and couldn’t believe how easy I did that. I asked them to please not tell anyone about me doing this. I asked that because when ever I did stuff in front of someone I would be asked, can you lift this? How about that? Oh and….. so I didn’t do a lot in front of people unless I knew them.

It All Starts

      Now that you have read a few things that’s been on mind, let me introduce myself and briefly say what I look for in life. My name, is Harold Krueger, but I go by my nickname Monte. I would love to be your coach and or business partner in your journey into the World of Fitness and More! I look forward to working with you, helping you to achieve all your goals. I was born and raised in Gurnee Il. Just north of Chicago. I currently reside in Texas. I am an Emerald, Independent Beachbody Coach that is a Certified P90X and Insanity as an Instructor.

     I want to get to know you over time and become great friends! P90X was the first program I worked out with and fell in love with. Since then I have done other Beachbody workouts as well. Adding to that, I do drink Shakeology every day since becoming a Beachbody Coach. That stuff is AMWESOME! I started all this as a customer and fell in love with the whole Fitness Life Style. I look forward to your sharing your journey with me.

     Please feel free at any time to reach out to me about anything. As you will learn through time, I have a HUGE passion for helping people, to me, that’s what life is all about. It’s about helping others reach their goals. Over the next several days I will posting here my Journey thus far. It will talk about how it all started, what happened along the way and where I’m at with it all right now. It would take several pages to write all in one blog, so I’ll split it up, like a miniseries. Of course, I’ll do my best to keep your interest so that you keep coming back to see what happens next. What is a Word!?

        An age-old question I’m sure. OK Maybe not. But really, ask yourself, What IS A Word? Think about it. A single word can change a person’s life! It can cause them to go to a dark place and end it all or soar above the clouds to success. And I must ask, Why? A word is nothing more than a sound. A sound that from day one of our lives has come to have meaning. A sound that makes us laugh, cry, communicate and so on. How many times have you heard a nose and said to yourself or perhaps someone standing by you “Wow it sounded like that car just said Potatoes! “ or something like that? Sounds are sounds, and words are just that, a sound. Point in case, listen to a foreign language you Don’t Know, and what does it mean to you? It means nothing, it’s just a sound someone is making. These sounds or Words, have no true meaning or power on their own. A word only has the power YOU give it. Your reaction is what YOU allow it to be. A word cannot hurt you unless you let it. Lately people have been twisting words and their definitions to give it the power to do their bidding. It’s like if you hear someone telling a joke and they drop the “F” bomb, you may get upset but you may laugh as well. You probably will get mad though, why? Because you were taught that it was a bad word and should never be used. Another example would be you can say Poop on TV but not the “S” word… a word is a word no matter what.

     So let’s keep that in mind and think of all the times someone said something to you that made you upset, mad, frustrated, stressed and how could you of turned that around. Remember you make the word what it is, NOT the other way around. A word can be like a double edge sword and cut through you like butter or the same word can also be like a feather and tickle you silly. Knowing this, why then get upset when someone says something to you? That old saying, “Sticks and stones can break my bones but Words will never harm me” has a lot of truth to it. But that’s just a a childish little saying? I think not. I said once before, life is what you feed it and I’m adding to that, “Words are the plate it’s served on.” Meaning to feed positive you need to take the power of the words away and turn them to be what you want them to be, harmless sounds that will not break you. Roundabout way of looking at this is if you take away the power and make them harmless then they can’t hurt you. So why the fuss?  It’s all in how you look at it really. And speaking of how you look at things, I want to leave you with this little thought from my observation of just 3, little words, that no matter who says them or how, they have a lot of power,

 

Those 3 Little Words

 

It’s amazing how 3 little words can mean so much,

Especially when you say them with a caring touch,

These 3 little words will make any woman smile,

No matter how they’re said and no matter the style,

From Early morning, afternoon and even in bed,

These words are forever going through a woman’s head,

 

And yes us men don’t always say it,

But You know we always mean it,

And we too like to hear those same little words,

We’re not ALL just a bunch of old turds,

You women expect us to always say it, actually you demand,

Wanting us men to shout it out all across the land,

 

But in our defense I would like to say,

We’d like to hear it to each and every day,

Yet a man rarely ever hears them if at all,

No matter even if we do it all,

Please won’t you just say them even late at night?

While we hold you close and gentle and tight?

 

So why won’t you women say it, while keeping a straight face?,

We want to hear it so bad that we’re sending men into outer space,

Just look into our eyes and please don’t start a fight,

Would it really KILL you,

To say those 3 little words “You Are Right” ?

Mindset / Fitness

  What is fitness to me? Well I would hope the foundation of that was the same as others, but I find it’s not. Fitness I believe should be more than just how much you lift, how often you workout and your nutrition. It should also include Mindset, Soul, Positivity, Family, Friends, Lifestyle, Pretty much EVERYTING you do in life effects your fitness level in one way or another. Even while you’re sleeping, it’s being affected. So many people thought judge the level of fitness strictly by the workout and what they eat. I could list each one I already mentioned and give examples of how each plays a part but this time I want you to see what you come up with. Everyone has their own reason as to why so let’s hear your comments on this one. As soon as I get some I’ll post them in the next blog and share.

     One of the big things that stands out for a strong fitness orientated life is family. Not just your family as in your wife and kids but also your family as in your parents and siblings. Getting in a good place with them will, as I see it, put your mindset in a great place to develop and be positive about things. If things are not that way, even if it’s not your fault at all, we still have that tendency to put ourselves in a negative world over it. The mindset is probably the most important part of it all to being the key to a successful and fit life. So, if there is an area that is bothering you or negative, your full benefit of the workout is not reached. I’m sure we’ve all those days when our workouts were like on auto pilot instead of feeling awesome we just feel tired. And then the ones where we are feeling like “YES!!!!!” and you’re ready to take on the world! It’s all about Mindset.

You ENJOY Being Over Weight?

          So, you’ve lived well and eaten whatever you want. No one is going to tell YOU what to eat or how to live. Yeah, the scale is showing some serious digits, but you take it as Bigger is Better! People won’t mess with you now cuz you’re big! Doesn’t matter it’s Jaba the hut big. So you need two chairs to sit in, and have to buy two tickets when flying cuz take up two worth of room. But Hey, you CAN’T be too big, they still make clothes in your size so it’s OK, right? Looking down and seeing your feet is over rated, you know they’re there or you wouldn’t be walking. You think it’s a cool trick to walk by a restaurant and make the water glasses vibrate like you were trying out for an extra on Jurassic Park. You got this, right? But you have a point to make, You are YOU and no one should tell you what to do. So you push back by eating more and doing less so that you can weight more and lay around more so you can eat more an do less and ….. Does it ever stop? But wait! There’s MORE! If you act now, or I should say Don’t act now and keep laying around, you can get heart dieses, Diabetes, restricted blood flow to the brain, Joints locking up, skin conditions and more! NOW you’re showing them who’s in charge, Huh?! Look, these same people that have been doggin you are the ones that care about you. The ones that tease are usually the ones that could lose a few pounds too and are just trying to make sure the spot light is on you, not them. Don’t take that to heart.

           What’s next? Well if you don’t really want to just lay around and die early, perhaps you’ll see an ad for weight loss or maybe a good friend wants to team up and get healthy with you or whatever the reason, you decide enough is enough, you DO have things to live for, you DO want to do more and get out there to live and not just exist. You now put in the time and hit the gym or set up an at home area to work out. You dial in to a better nutritional way of eating and you start to slowly see the weight come down, clothes size come down, your confidence is getting higher as you feel better and want to show the world what you’ve accomplished, right!? But, you look in the mirror and you aren’t UN-happy yet not really happy either. All that work and you still have this waist and lower gut issue. And what’s with these flags developing under your arms? Yeah, pass it off to more work needs to be done yet. Oh but there’s more. Now you start to notice a sound when you do jumping jacks or high knee kicks or,,, wait a minute, it’s the skin slapping against your stomach area and upper thigh. You look hard in the mirror and realize that all this work you’ve done, is making you look like the Incredible Melting Man or Woman. Yeah. Forget taking those after pictures now, just pass the Haugen Das or where’s the closest BBQ joint …… Wait… Beer! Yeah I need a Beer! Put the brakes on Skippy, before you get back into that fat lane of life and gain it all back, there ARE things to do that will help you out and let you show off all that hard work you’ve been doing.

         Trust me, I know, I have the same issue that I’m going through right now. True there are those with more than I have hanging around that won’t shrink back down. But it’s all the same really, stuff is hanging around that you want to get rid of. After all, that’s why you started all this, to look good naked and feel better. It seems age is a factor but not the ONLY factor. Young or old, it can still happen. It does happen more to those that are up in age but that is all from the lack of skin memory to shrink back down. If you have a little bit, don’t sweat it, it will take a year or two but it will go away as long as you keep up with your new fitness lifestyle. How much is just a little? If you can’t really grab a handful of it, but just a little with your fingers, you’ll be OK. But a hand full is and will be an issue. That’s where I’m at. And if you can grab enough to pull it way up, you need medical attention to get rid of it. There are no magic pills or drinks that will do that for you. The worst thing you can do though, is get all depressed and think you look worse now than when you did being fat. At least then you could get attention from Chubby Chasers. There may be some saggy skin chasers but I doubt it. So, there are things you can do to help. First of all think of how much better you feel emotionally and mentally and physically since you lost all that weight. Don’t forget how you used to hurt and ache when going up stairs or climbing a ladder or just plain getting up and down off the couch. Nothing is worth going back to that. OK, what are you going to do about it then?

           First of course is the Medical way to have it removed and be done with it. If it’s a lot, it’s a good idea to do so. That procedure will range from, depending on the degree of removal, anywhere from 5,000 up to 20,000 dollars. Sometimes certain Insurance policies will help you out since it is a health issue and not just cosmetic. Your clothing right now is important. You want to go with darker colors rather than lighter bright ones. That doesn’t mean you need a closet full of black clothes and look gothic all the time. You just need to go with Dark green or Dark blue or Dark brown, get the idea? It has to do with how the clothes project a sort of shading that allows for a little extra curve here. A compression type under garment is recommend too. This will hold you in even more, so you don’t wiggle in the wrong places when you walk. It doesn’t need to be supper tight and cut off circulation anywhere. Oh, but what about the arms and back area? Wear a compression style shirt underneath and the back will be at a minimum. For the arms, don’t go sleeveless. It’s really up to you though and your comfort zone at this point.

           Nope, I didn’t forget about the visual medal of honor picture to show off on FB or Instagram or any other social media you may be into. Yes, the After Picture! For men it’s easy, don’t stand straight in front of the camera, this will hide the little bit at the waist area and show more of the stomach in a positive way. Arms need to be down and flexed so the extra skin doesn’t show hanging under them. Never wear your pants or shorts below the hip or bellybutton area, especially if your bellybutton is now hanging low enough to make it a porno picture, if ya know what I mean, LOL! For women, wear a one-piece swimsuit rather than a two piece, again it’s your comfort zone so you decide. For everyone, stay with dark colors and check your lighting, too much will make you look like a billowing cloud and not a slenderer you. Make sure your background is plane and NOT White, that color will kill you and make the picture look a little fake. The angle should be direct but off just slightly to giving a better hiding of the curves you don’t want to show. Also keep the picture as level as you can, no one wants to see how much weight you lost because you cleaned out your nose, LOL! There is only 1 way you will ever look perfect, Photo-Shop! So, don’t try too hard, just take several pictures with angles and lighting and clothing until you get just the right look you are going for. Having fun with it is the most important thing. People will see the results.

           The main thing to all the hard work, time and effort you put in to this fitness journey no matter what ANYONE tells you is ….. Don’t Stop, Give up or Go back! There are a ton of YouTube videos out there by people in your situation that can give advice and ideas and even help to keep you motivated to continue on and not quit or beat yourself up or feel like you did it all for nothing. Believe what I say, Been there done that, still dealing with it. Keeping your mental mindset to a positive attitude about your journey is what wins over everything else. Having some “extra hanging skin” really should be looked at and replaced with the fact that you now have “extra time to live.” It can all be turned around but it’s up to you. Good for One but not the Other!?

     Throughout time and recorded in history, there’s always been that one-way street type of thinking and it really needs to stop. What I’m talking about for example is when a person comments, like on social media saying , “WOW you look really HOT like that!” and the response back is “Oh, Thanks!” a few days later another person says the same thing, “WOW, you look really HOT like that!” This time, the response is “I don’t like that comment, it was improper! I’m married and don’t like pervs looking at me like that!” Why was it OK for the person to say that and not another? NO one really has an answer to that. I’ll bet if the other person was good looking there would have been no negative response only a smile. Now, if you keep track you’ll see some other interesting conditions, such as, have you ever seen or heard about a Sexual Harassment charge between 2 people that find each other attractive? It’s amazing the double standard we put on our lives making it OK for THIS person to say something but not THAT one!

     Another example of this that I have firsthand experience with, more than once, is if a married guy starts talking to a woman and they hit it off enjoying each other’s company, even though no mention of a hotel was brought up, or even joking about anything doing with sex, once the lady finds he’s married, the attitude changes and he’s a piece a crapp out for just one thing! Men are all a like! Then threaten to find his wife and tell her. Yet, reverse that and have a married lady talk to a guy, that’s OK!? They justify this when asked by saying, “Well I KNOW I’m not going to do anything!” Double standards are everywhere and should be Nowhere! Let’s not stop with just words. If you dress a certain way, showing off your fine body and you seem to have a lot of chest showing or something, why call someone a pervert and get all upset because they noticed?

     My point on this subject is that Life is too short, we should enjoy and not destroy our lives and the lives of others. People tend to criticize or scrutinize things way to much. Living on a one-way street type of thinking. We are all we have and we’re in this together.

School House Mindset

     A person’s mind is a lot like a school house really when you think of it. There are big schools and small schools. High tech schools and others. So, let’s think of your mind as a school house. What house are you? Unfortunately, a lot of people are stuck in that one room school house with limited thinking and ability to adapt to the ever-changing world around them. They sit and watch as people pass by and opportunities pass by as well. New things evade them and complaints and criticism is the number one thing you will hear from them. Don’t get me wrong, everyone is needed in society and has their place. The old school or one room school mindset is needed because they see things as more of a black and white, one or the other type lifestyle and way of thinking, making a foundation for others to grow on . True, they miss out a lot on things but aren’t all things born from a positive or negative means?

     Sometimes these type help to push others that are more of a multi-room school house. A mindset of possibilities that seem like dreams and fantasies and don’t like to take no for an answer or be told they can’t do something because ….. they just can’t! Those are the ones that made things possible like Flight, Cars, Trains. Factories, Fast food and many other items. All this happened because someone with that one room school house attitude mindset told that person they couldn’t. We need the nay Sayers to keep progress going. Without them, we wouldn’t know how good we were doing. There is a place for everything and everything in its place.

     Stepping up from there is the multi room school house mindset, as mentioned earlier. They feed off the one room bunch and have an outlook of wonderment and awe at the world. They are like kids that never grew up. With more than one way of thinking they can devise ideas and make them a reality. A little more positive in their mindset. By not taking no for an answer, it dives them to new achievements. Yes, they can be a little annoying at times because they ask so many darn questions. But questions are what makes things really happen. The Multi-Level School House Mindset person looks at life like this…. If there is no struggle there is no growth. I became Strong because I was weak, I became Fearless because I was afraid, I became wise because I was foolish! These are the movers and shakers.

     I mentioned also about he Tech school house, Medical school house and so on. Those are the same mindsets as e talked about, just more focused on one particular issue such as health, technology, military and so on. All in all, EVERYONE is needed in this world and no one person or group of people are better than or more important that another. Life Takes Balance or it doesn’t work.

It’s YOUR Choice

 From day one when you were born, you were making choices. What most don’t know or even realize, is there are 3 levels of choices we all make on a daily basis. The levels are Good, Bad & Sub-conscious, The Sub-conscious ones are the most dangerous because we don’t even know they are happening. It’s our brain on auto response based on past decisions. The Good ones can also be Bad ones when it’s looked at long term. What our life is today is a direct result of those choices we’ve made through our life like it or not. I know, you’re thinking, I didn’t Choose to be in an accident, or be overweight or out of shape or …. OK, OK let’s focus for a minute and look at this. Did you think about that double burger with cheese and large fries before you ate it as in long term? No, you didn’t. Now you are overweight. You didn’t choose to be un-fit but you did choose to watch TV, play video games, lay around. Sound familiar? Not many at all really think of the long-term effects of making a choice in life. Remember, for every action there is a reaction. You can’t get away from it or around it.

      Most will point the ever so popular and guilt relieving, finger of blame and make excuses as to why their life sucks or isn’t what they dream of. Truth is, you made it what it is in more ways than you are willing to admit. But oh no, society has made it impossible to get ahead or be all you can be and make your dreams come true. That is the most popular mindset on this matter. You must realize that it’s not just one choice that made this life you are living, it’s a multitude of choices throughout your life that has you where you are today. We ALL start out the same, naked and kicking a screaming. You can let society dictate your choices as you go through life or make your own. Either way, they were your choices to make. Looking for blame about your life only wastes time looking for the easy answer to your problems or situation. Claiming or feeling you had no control of what’s going on is only the reality of the choices made back in your past. No one wants to believe they made a single bad choice let alone several. So, let’s get that finger pointing and take away our inner feeling of failing. It’s not your fault, right!?

     But, how do you know if it’s a good bad or sub-conscious one? All you have to do is think about it. When you react without thinking, that’s your Sub-conscious working. And yes, you can sort of program how your sub-conscious makes those choices. So, the Good ones or Bad ones? That’s where it gets tricky and you’ll have to use your brain a little on those because all choices have their good and bad sides. You just need to project a little and see what will work for you. And yes, even the best laid plans can go bust do to unforeseen circumstances. But, here’s the beauty of it, you can choose what do next. Oh, and surprise, NOT doing anything? Was your choice. Let’s explore and try to understand the 3 levels of making a choice in your life.

     We’ll leave the mystery one for last and start with the “Good Ones” What are Good Ones? Good ones are the ones you either thought your way through by running the what if factor or scenarios of what could happen later. Let’s take that burger for example. You chose to have it, not thinking about the after effect of what your body will do with it. But when you do think about it first and realize this choice will lead to being overweight so you don’t have it. That’s making a good decision. I hear you. “But if I just do that once in a while and not all the time, I’ll be OK. So, having that burger is NOT a bad choice.” True! However, what you just did was make a GOOD choice by not having one every day since you thought about it and see how it can be not so productive for your over all weight to keep eating them all the time. Like I said in the beginning, any choice can be good or bad depending how you make them.

     Now, a Bad Choice? We sort of hit on that talking about the Good Ones but let’s get a little more detailed here. This one is the most abused reason for things not going the way you wanted them to. I had no control, I didn’t know that was going to happen, Others did it, they started it, ego, peer pressure, self-gratification, poor planning, listening to others, following a lead blindly, the list goes on and on. You can see by those examples what else could cause a Bad Choice, how may more can you think of? A Bad Choice is simply when you do something with full awareness and either not thinking it through or just plain not caring about the effect. Why would someone make a bad choice to begin with? It all stems from not thinking and acting first. Bottom line, the definition of a Bad Choice is “NOT seeing the big picture”, I’m sure you’ve that term before.

     On to the Mystery one, the “Sub-conscious” one. It’s a mystery because it’s both good and bad at the same time. Your sub-conscious will not lie or do anything it doesn’t want to. Yet you can control it by making good choices throughout your life thus causing the sub-conscious effect to be positive. Did I lose you on that one? It’s just all the things you have programmed in over the years building your auto pilot actions. Here’s an example, a great friend or loved one is in trouble or hurt, your brain runs a million scenarios choosing the best action to take and then you react. You didn’t think about it, visualize the what if’s or long term. You simply reacted by making a sub-conscious choice to do so. To close for now because I know this one was a long one, but that was my choice to make it that way, I just want to end with saying to you that the end result of ANY action was the direct result of your choice or choices as to the final outcome. Believe it or not you have more power over your life than you may believe. So strt Thinking before you start Sinking. Choose Wisely My Friend!
